Lumen Now Integrates With Claude

Answer engine optimization dashboards are great for tracking data over time, but sometimes you just want to ask a question. "Which competitor gained the most visibility this week?" or "What content should I create next based on my citation gaps?" These are the kinds of questions that require clicking through multiple screens, filtering, and mentally stitching together different data points.

Today we're launching Lumen's integration with Claude via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, you can have natural conversations with your AEO data directly inside Claude, no context switching, no manual exports.


What You Can Do With Claude and Your AEO Data

The integration gives Claude read-only access to four core areas of your Lumen data. Here's what each one unlocks.

1. Check your AI visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and more

Ask Claude how your brand is performing across AI models. You'll get visibility scores, citation share, and competitor rankings from the last 7 days.

Example questions you can ask:

  • "How does my brand visibility compare to competitors this week?"
  • "Which AI platform mentions us most often?"
  • "Give me a summary of our visibility trends"

2. Analyze your AI citation share

See which domains AI models are citing when they answer your tracked prompts. This includes your citation share percentage, URL-level detail, and which prompts aren't citing your domain at all. You can filter by date range (7 days to all time) and by topic.

Example questions:

  • "What's our citation share over the last 30 days?"
  • "Which of our URLs gets cited most?"
  • "Show me prompts where we're not getting cited"

3. Dive into prompt-level AEO performance

Pick any tracked prompt and get a full breakdown, visibility across platforms, citation share by domain, competitor mention rankings, and response volume.

Example questions:

  • "How are we performing on the prompt 'best project management tools'?"
  • "Which competitors dominate the prompt 'top CRM software'?"
  • "Compare our visibility across ChatGPT and Perplexity for this prompt"

4. Find opportunities to improve AI visibility

Surface content ideas, outreach targets, and Reddit threads that Lumen has identified as opportunities to improve your AI visibility. Filter by type (content, outreach, Reddit) and status (open, completed, archived).

Example questions:

  • "Show me all open content opportunities"
  • "What Reddit threads should we engage with?"
  • "List outreach targets we haven't acted on yet"

AEO Use Cases for the Claude Integration

Here are a few ways this integration fits into real workflows:

Weekly check-ins. Instead of logging into Lumen every Monday, ask Claude for a summary of your visibility trends. Get the highlights in 30 seconds.

Competitor analysis. Ask Claude to compare your citation share against specific competitors and explain the differences. Useful for understanding where you're gaining or losing ground.

Content planning. Pull your open opportunities and ask Claude to prioritize them or draft a content brief based on citation gaps.

Stakeholder reporting. Ask Claude to summarize your AEO performance for a non-technical audience. Something like "Summarize our AI visibility this month in 3 bullet points for the executive team" works well.
